Mesh Framing Services

Many applications require that the mesh be enclosed in a frame and that the frame provide a means of attaching it to another component in the production process. DWT offers mesh framing services and can manufacture custom roll-formed, u-edge, angle iron or perimeter rod frames for your mesh application. Frames are often used to enclose security screens, machine guards, vents and door and window screens.

Wire Mesh Passivating Services

Stainless steel is naturally corrosion-resistant. However, during processing, it can lose some of its anti-corrosion properties. Passivating cleans the stainless steel to return it to its natural state and restores the anti-corrosive properties of the steel. Dorstener provides passivating services for wire mesh for products that need to be non-corrosive, such as screens and filters that will be exposed to harsh environments.

Wire Mesh Electro-Polishing Services

Electro-polishing improves the surface finish of the mesh by providing a brighter and cleaner appearance. In addition, it increases the corrosion resistance of the material and makes it easier to clean. Electro-polishing is used for applications that need a clean appearance and that are exposed to harsh environments such as baskets, filters and screens used in foodservice equipment and architectural mesh.

Specialty Coating Services for Wire Mesh

Dorstener offers Teflon® and epoxy coating services for wire mesh products. Teflon® coatings provide additional strength to the mesh as well as protecting the mesh from contaminants during use. Epoxy coatings add stability to small diameter wire mesh products to improve their performance. These coatings are used mainly for filters and screens.

Specialty Edge Treatments of Wire Mesh & Wire Cloth

DWT can provide hemmed and plastic-coated edges and metal frames to finish the wire cloth edges. We can also provide selvage edges to prevent unraveling for fine mesh and flush edge finishing up to .30”. Random edge finishes are also available.

Bolt Hole Patterns in Wire Mesh

We can fabricate custom bolt holes in the wire mesh to meet your part requirements.

Wire Cloth Laser Cutting Services

Laser cutting is an effective cutting process for wire mesh products in certain situations. Since laser cutting does not require tooling, it is a fast, low-cost cutting method for low quantity production runs. It is a good method for hard steels that would produce heavy wear on die cutting machinery, and will eliminate flaking on the hard steel cuts. It also minimizes unraveling at the edges. Laser cutting provides close tolerances and is an excellent cutting method for precise parts.
